Compared to pure copper wire, nickel plating treatment on copper wire can significantly improve the overall performance of the material and expand its applicability. There are many methods available on the market for making nickel plated copper wire, such as chemical nickel plating, electroplating, brush plating, etc. The specific application of nickel plating methods can be determined according to the actual situation of the enterprise.

1. Chemical nickel plating

Under specific conditions, nickel plated copper wire can be formed by reducing and fixing metal ions in aqueous solution onto the surface of a solid substrate. The commonly used plating solutions include nickel sulfate, nickel acetate, etc.

Advantages:

1. The coverage ability is relatively wide, even for complex parts, components, etc., a coating with good uniformity can be obtained;

2. The deep plating ability is much stronger than electroplating, which can effectively reduce the possibility of uncoated areas in blind holes and deep holes in the plated parts.

3. Its corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and coating thickness have been greatly improved.

2. Brush plating

Using electrodes and brushes that can provide the electrolyte required for electroplating, move them on the cathode component to complete the entire process of nickel plated copper wire.

Advantages:

The major advantage of this type of nickel plating method is that the entire process does not need to be applied to the plating tank, the deposition speed of the coating is very fast, and the efficiency of the entire brush plating process is very high. The entire device is easy to operate and can be coated with multiple types of coatings, with high bonding strength. It has a wide range of applications in industries such as electronics, machinery, or vehicle maintenance.

After nickel plating pure copper wire using the above method, the stability of the entire nickel plated copper wire will be higher when exposed to air. At the same time, nickel itself has strong passivation ability, which can form a passivation film on the surface of copper wire in a very short time, better resisting the corrosion of atmospheric, alkaline and other substances, and greatly helping to improve the wear resistance of copper wire.
